What is Otoplasty?

- It does not affect hearing. Contrary to popular belief, otoplasty does not affect one’s hearing. It neither improves hearing nor degrades it. It only changes the appearance of the external ear, which has very little to do with hearing.
- Recovery/Healing time is low. One of the benefits of otoplasty is low recovery time. There is no need for an overnight stay at the hospital. The recovery period is less than 2 weeks. And, you can return to work immediately. Though most surgeons recommend avoiding strenuous work for 1-2 days and keeping the ears covered.
- It can be performed on adults also. Though most otoplasty surgeries are performed on children, it can also be performed on people of any age.
